Technical Description

The 2019 Hurco VM10I is a 3-axis vertical machining center based on the VM10 platform equipped with Hurco's WinMax i-series control. The "I" suffix designates the enhanced i-control variant, which provides improved processing speed, expanded memory, and additional connectivity relative to the standard WinMax platform. Mechanically, the VM10I is identical to the standard VM10, with axis travels of 20 inches in X, 16 inches in Y, and 20 inches in Z, and a worktable measuring 26 inches by 14 inches. The spindle is driven by a 15 HP motor and operates at speeds up to 8,000 RPM through a CAT40 taper, providing the torque and speed range required for milling, drilling, boring, and tapping in steel, aluminum, cast iron, and engineering plastics. The standard 8,000 RPM spindle is well suited to conventional machining strategies across a broad range of work materials. The 2019 VM10I is equipped with Hurco's WinMax i-series conversational CNC control, which supports simultaneous conversational and G-code programming, a large touchscreen interface, DXF file import, Ethernet and USB connectivity, and integrated toolpath simulation. The enhanced processing capability of the i-series control supports faster block processing for complex contouring programs, improved network integration, and expanded program storage relative to the standard WinMax platform. Standard equipment includes an 18-tool automatic tool changer. Optional features include coolant-through-spindle, chip conveyor, fourth-axis interface, and probing systems.
