Technical Description

The 2000 Hurco VMX64 is a 3-axis vertical machining center built for large-part machining applications requiring an extra-wide 64-inch X-axis travel and a generously proportioned worktable. The machine provides 64-inch X-axis travel, 34-inch Y-axis travel, and 30-inch Z-axis travel across a 66-inch by 35-inch worktable with a maximum table load capacity of 6,000 pounds. The deep Z-axis stroke of 30 inches allows machining of tall workpieces and deep pockets without repositioning. The CAT 40 spindle delivers 24 horsepower peak at up to 12,000 RPM, enabling productive material removal in aluminum, steel, and cast iron. A high-capacity automatic tool changer with 30, 40, or 96 tool positions (depending on configuration) supports highly complex multi-operation jobs without manual intervention. The VMX64 is equipped with Hurco WinMax CNC control, providing conversational and G-code programming, DXF import, integrated 3D toolpath simulation, and direct CAM post support. The rigid cast-iron base and column provide excellent thermal stability and vibration damping for precision work on large workpieces. At approximately 32,187 pounds, the VMX64 provides the structural mass required for stable accurate machining of very large and heavy parts. The VMX64 is well suited for aerospace structural machining, large die and mold work, defense component fabrication, and any production environment requiring a high-capacity VMC with an expansive work envelope.
