A+Technical Description
The 2013 Kitamura Mytrunnion-4G is a 5-axis vertical machining center featuring Kitamura's integrated trunnion-style rotary tilting table, purpose-designed for simultaneous 5-axis contouring of complex precision workpieces. Built on a rigid Meehanite cast iron fixed-column structure, the machine provides outstanding thermal stability and vibration damping for sustained accuracy in production 5-axis work. The 15.7 inch (400 mm) diameter trunnion platter supports workpieces through an A-axis tilt range of -120 to +30 degrees and full 360-degree C-axis rotation, enabling complete 5-sided access in a single setup. Linear axis travels are 24 inches in X, 24 inches in Y, and 19.7 inches in Z. The direct-drive high-frequency spindle reaches 15,000 RPM with 15 HP continuous output through an HSK-A63 or CAT-40 taper interface. The Kitamura Arumatik-Mi CNC, which is Fanuc-based, provides full 5-axis simultaneous interpolation, RTCP tilted workplane programming, look-ahead interpolation, and rigid tapping. Precision ball screws and roller guideways on all linear axes deliver accurate, repeatable motion through rapid traverse rates up to 1,417 IPM. An automatic tool changer enables multi-step 5-axis programs without manual intervention. The machine weighs approximately 19,840 lbs with an overall footprint of approximately 146.7 by 86.5 by 113.2 inches high. The Mytrunnion-4G is well suited for aerospace impellers, medical implants, turbine blades, and complex mold geometries requiring high-accuracy 5-axis contouring.
