Technical Description

The 2014 Leadwell V30I is a 3-axis vertical machining center representing the updated i-series variant of the V30 platform, featuring an increased Z-axis travel of 24 inches and updated Fanuc 0i CNC control for improved capability. The fixed-column, moving-table cast iron structure provides excellent vibration damping and thermal stability. The worktable measures approximately 35 by 19.7 inches (890 x 500 mm), with axis travels of 30 inches in X, 16.1 inches in Y, and 24 inches in Z, the extended Z-axis providing additional clearance for taller workpieces and fixture assemblies. The BT-40 or CAT-40 spindle reaches 10,000 RPM with estimated 15 to 20 HP continuous power. The Fanuc 0i-MC CNC provides look-ahead interpolation, rigid tapping, high-speed machining cycles, and DNC networking. A 20-tool automatic tool changer enables multi-step programs. Machine weight is approximately 9,921 lbs. The V30I is well suited for job shop and production machining of medium-complexity components where extended Z-axis travel and updated CNC capability provide practical advantages over the base V30 platform.
