A+Technical Description
The 2020 Makino D300 is a 5-axis die and mold machining center built for high-accuracy simultaneous 5-axis contouring on complex mold surfaces, aerospace components, and precision structural parts. The D300 employs a tilting A-axis (-30° to +120°) and continuous rotary C-axis table design with a 340- by 300-millimeter (13.4- by 11.8-inch) integrated table, accommodating workpieces up to 17.72 inches in diameter and 9.45 inches in height. Linear axis travels are 17.72 inches in X, 24.41 inches in Y, and 19.69 inches in Z. The spindle operates at up to 15,000 RPM with 30 HP of power through a CAT-40 or optional HSK-A63 taper, providing the torque and surface speed required for demanding 5-axis mold machining in hardened steels and high-strength alloys. The Makino Professional 6 CNC delivers SGI.5 smooth contouring, advanced tool management, and full 5-axis look-ahead interpolation. A 60-tool automatic tool changer with 0.8-second tool-to-tool time supports complex programs with minimal cycle interruption. The D300 is engineered for lights-out production capability and integrates with automation systems for unattended machining. Its rigid thermal-controlled structure maintains positional accuracy over extended production cycles. The D300 is a preferred platform for precision mold shops and aerospace manufacturers requiring versatile 5-axis capability with a well-proven Makino control system.
