A+Technical Description
The 1997 Matsuura RA-I is a 3-axis vertical machining center from the Matsuura RA series, representing the base non-pallet-changer configuration of the RA-1 platform. The worktable measures approximately 600 x 380 mm (23.6" x 14.96") with axis travels of approximately 510 mm (20.07") in X, 400 mm (15.74") in Y, and 460 mm (18.11") in Z. The BT40 spindle operates at up to 6,000 RPM via a two-speed geared drive, delivering approximately 10 HP for robust metal removal in steel, cast iron, and aluminum workpieces. A 20-tool automatic tool changer supports multi-operation setups. The CNC control is a Yasnac MX3 (Yaskawa), standard equipment on Matsuura RA-series machines of the early-to-mid 1990s, supporting EIA/ISO G-code programming and standard machining canned cycles. The RA-I is a rigid, compact VMC well suited to job shop and production machining of precision components where single-setup versatility and Matsuura's characteristic accuracy and reliability are key requirements.
