A+Technical Description
The 2015 Mazak FJV-250 is a 3-axis double-column vertical machining center from Yamazaki Mazak's FJV series, the successor platform to the FJV-25 with an updated control generation. The FJV-250 shares the same C-frame bridge architecture and core specifications as the FJV-25, with the primary evolution being the CNC platform. The worktable measures approximately 1,200 x 550 mm (47" x 21.5") and supports a maximum load of 800 kg (1,760 lbs). Axis travels are 1,020 mm (40.2") in X, 510 mm (20.1") in Y, and 460 mm (18.1") in Z. The CAT-40 spindle operates up to 12,000 RPM with a motor rated at approximately 30 HP, providing high-speed finishing and adequate torque for conventional steel and cast iron milling. The bridge column delivers enhanced rigidity over a standard C-frame VMC, minimizing deflection under cutting loads. The CNC is the Mazatrol Matrix, Mazak's conversational and EIA/ISO programming platform with tool path simulation, geometry calculation, and rigid tapping. Machine weight is approximately 5,490 kg (12,100 lbs). The FJV-250 is widely used in job shop and production environments for precision machining of medium-sized components across aerospace subcontracting, mold making, and general engineering applications.
