Technical Description

The 2003 Milltronics VMD30 is a 3-axis bridge-type vertical machining center from Milltronics' VMD series, providing a long-travel machining platform suited to the production of large prismatic components such as dies, mold bases, structural fixtures, and long rails. The VMD30's bridge-column architecture enables substantial X-axis table travel, with the fixed bridge providing a stable reference for the Y- and Z-axes regardless of table position. The 20 HP spindle motor drives the BT-40 taper spindle to speeds up to 6,000 RPM, delivering torque for face milling and heavy roughing in steel, aluminum, and cast iron. Y-axis travel is 30 inches and Z-axis travel is 24 inches. The Milltronics Centurion CNC supports conversational and G-code programming.
