Technical Description

The 2011 Mitsubishi MVR25 is a 3-axis double-column (bridge-type) vertical machining center manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, designed for the production of very large prismatic components requiring wide crossrail travel and high rigidity across a substantial machining envelope. The MVR25 features a fixed longitudinal table with a traversing bridge column, providing Y-axis crossrail travel of approximately 98.4 inches and correspondingly large X-axis longitudinal travel depending on table length configuration. Z-axis ram travel is approximately 13.8 inches, supplemented by powered crossrail vertical positioning for accommodating different workpiece heights. The CAT-50 taper spindle operates at speeds up to 6,000 RPM with approximately 40 HP spindle power, delivering substantial torque for face milling, contouring, and heavy roughing of large workpieces in steel, cast iron, and specialty materials. The machine is equipped with a Mitsubishi M700 or Fanuc CNC control providing full 3-axis simultaneous contouring, advanced cycles, and rigid tapping. The MVR25 is suited to aerospace structural component manufacturing, large mold and die work, and heavy industrial part production requiring a large, stable machining platform.
