A+Technical Description
The 2015 Okuma MB66V is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Okuma's MB-V series, providing a large work envelope for substantial prismatic parts in aerospace, mold and die, and heavy manufacturing applications. The MB66V is built on a rigid double-column bridge frame with Okuma's Thermo-Friendly Concept (TFC) and full linear guideway construction, delivering high-speed cutting capability alongside the structural mass required for heavy stock removal. The worktable measures 60.24" x 25.98" (1,530 x 660 mm) with a maximum load of approximately 2,205 lbs. Axis travels are 59.06" in X, 25.98" in Y, and 25.98" in Z, with rapid traverse of 1,417 IPM (36 m/min) on all linear axes. The standard CAT40/BT40 spindle delivers approximately 10 HP (7.5 kW) continuous with a standard maximum speed of 8,000 RPM. Optional spindle configurations include 15,000, 20,000, 25,000, and 35,000 RPM packages with higher-power motors up to 22 kW (29.5 HP). A 32-tool arm-type ATC provides chip-to-chip changes in approximately 4 seconds. The Okuma OSP-P200M control provides conversational and G-code programming, Okuma's Collision Avoidance System (CAS), Machining Navi for chatter suppression, and Ethernet connectivity. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 128.5" x 115.7" (L x W) with a height of 129.7" and a weight of approximately 24,251 lbs (11,000 kg).
