A+Technical Description
The 2005 Okuma MCV4020 is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Okuma's MCV series, a mid-to-large platform designed for precision milling, drilling, tapping, and contouring across a generous 40" x 20" work envelope. The MCV4020 is built on a rigid cast-iron column-and-base construction with Okuma's Thermo-Friendly Concept (TFC) thermal management, providing the structural mass and dimensional stability required for accurate machining in steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The worktable measures approximately 48.37" x 20" with axis travels of approximately 40" in X, 20" in Y, and 17.72" in Z. Rapid traverse is 1,181 IPM (30 m/min) on all axes. The CAT40/BT40 taper spindle delivers approximately 15 HP continuous with a maximum speed of 15,000 RPM, enabling both heavy roughing at lower speeds and high-speed finishing for aluminum components. A standard arm-type ATC provides multi-operation capability. The Okuma OSP-U10M control manages all three axes with servo drives and provides G-code and conversational programming, canned drilling and tapping cycles, and rigid tapping. Overall machine footprint is approximately 135" x 108" (L x W) with a height of 110" and a weight of approximately 16,300 lbs (7,394 kg).
