Technical Description

The 2007 Okuma MILLAC 561V is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Okuma's MILLAC series, a large-bed platform designed for heavy-duty milling, boring, drilling, and tapping of large prismatic components in mold and die, aerospace, and general precision manufacturing applications. The MILLAC 561V is built on a rigid traveling-column fixed-table structure with Okuma's Thermo-Friendly Concept (TFC) thermal management and linear guideway construction. The worktable measures approximately 53.15" x 22.05" (1,350 x 560 mm) with axis travels of approximately 41.34" in X, 22.05" in Y, and 20.47" in Z. Rapid traverse is 1,181 IPM (30 m/min) on all linear axes. The CAT50 taper spindle delivers approximately 20 HP (15 kW) continuous with a maximum speed of 6,000 RPM through a gear-head drive optimized for high-torque cutting in steel, stainless, and cast iron. A 32-tool arm-type ATC provides efficient chip-to-chip tool changes. The Okuma OSP-P200M control manages all three axes with servo drives and absolute encoders, providing G-code and conversational programming, canned drilling and tapping cycles, rigid tapping, Collision Avoidance System (CAS), and Ethernet connectivity for DNC. Full enclosure, chip conveyor, and high-pressure coolant system are standard. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 130" x 104" (L x W) with a height of 107" and a weight of approximately 15,433 lbs (7,000 kg).
