A+Technical Description
The 2025 OKUMA MU4000V is a 5-axis vertical machining center featuring a tilting-rotary trunnion table design that enables simultaneous 5-axis contouring for complex aerospace, medical, and mold components. The 400 mm (15.75") diameter trunnion table tilts from +20 to -110 degrees on the A-axis and rotates 360 degrees continuously on the C-axis, accommodating workpieces up to 23.62" diameter by 15.75" tall with a 660 lb table load capacity. Axis travels of 30.00" in X, 18.11" in Y, and 18.11" in Z provide a versatile cutting envelope. The wide-range spindle delivers 25 HP continuously at up to 15,000 RPM through a BT40 taper, combining high-speed finishing capability with adequate torque for steel roughing. The machine is controlled by OKUMA's OSP-P300M CNC, which integrates Collision Avoidance System (CAS) and Machining Navi for adaptive process optimization. Rapid traverse rates of 1,575 ipm in X/Y and 1,260 ipm in Z minimize non-cutting time. The 20-tool ATC supports flexible tooling setups for complex parts. The compact footprint of approximately 85" x 111" makes this machine well-suited for production environments where floor space efficiency is a priority.
