Technical Description

The 2017 OKUMA MU6300V is a 5-axis vertical machining center built around a large-format tilting-rotary trunnion table for machining complex aerospace, energy, and heavy industrial components. The 630 mm (24.8") diameter trunnion table tilts from +20 to -110 degrees on the A-axis and rotates continuously on the C-axis, supporting workpieces up to 1,100 lbs. Axis travels of 36.42" in X, 41.34" in Y, and 23.62" in Z provide a generous 5-axis cutting envelope. The spindle delivers 35 HP continuously at up to 12,000 RPM through a No. 50 taper, providing the torque necessary for heavy-duty roughing in steel and titanium alongside high-surface-finish finishing passes. The machine is controlled by OKUMA's OSP-P300MA CNC, which supports Collision Avoidance System (CAS), 5-axis machining cycles, and Machining Navi adaptive process control. Rapid traverse rates of 1,969 ipm across all linear axes minimize non-cutting time in production environments. The standard 64-tool ATC (expandable to 166 tools) enables complex multi-operation setups without operator intervention. At approximately 38,940 lbs, the MU6300V is a robust platform suited to high-value component machining in aerospace, defense, and energy sectors.
