Technical Description

The 2015 ROKU ROKU HC548EX is a 3-axis high-speed graphite and precision machining center from Japanese builder Roku-Roku, engineered for EDM electrode production and precision mold insert machining. The 23.6" x 14.1" worktable supports loads up to 440 lbs and provides a stable platform for medium-format graphite blocks and mold inserts. Axis travels of 18.1" in X, 14.1" in Y, and 10.2" in Z define the precision cutting envelope. The HSK-40 taper spindle operates at up to 32,000 RPM, enabling fine chip-load high-speed cutting of graphite, copper, and hardened steel with minimal tool deflection. Rapid traverse of 1,575 ipm maintains high productivity across extended multi-tool electrode programs. The machine is controlled by a Fanuc 31i CNC, providing reliable look-ahead processing and high-speed interpolation for complex 3D electrode geometries. A 12-tool ATC supports unattended multi-electrode production runs. The bridge-type monoblock construction provides the rigidity and thermal stability required for sustained sub-micron accuracy in precision graphite and electrode machining.
