A+Technical Description
The 2018 ROKU ROKU HC658 is a 3-axis high-speed hybrid machining center from Japanese builder Roku-Roku, designed for both graphite electrode milling and hard metal precision cutting of mold inserts and tooling components. The 21.6" x 13.8" worktable provides a compact precision work surface for electrode blocks and small mold inserts. Axis travels of 17.7" in X, 13.8" in Y, and 7.8" in Z define the working envelope. The spindle delivers approximately 8.4 HP at up to 32,000 RPM, suited for fine chip-load cutting in graphite, copper, aluminum, and hardened steel. The machine is controlled by a Fanuc 31i-B5 CNC, providing advanced look-ahead interpolation and high-speed nano-interpolation for smooth electrode surfaces. A 30-tool ATC supports extended unattended electrode production runs. The bridge-type monoblock construction provides the rigidity needed for precision accuracy in graphite and hard material machining. The HC658's hybrid capability for both graphite and steel machining makes it particularly versatile for comprehensive electrode and mold insert production in EDM tooling environments.
