A+Technical Description
The 2013 Sharp SV4020 is a 3-axis vertical machining center produced by Sharp Industries for medium-to-large format milling, drilling, and contouring in job-shop and production environments. Constructed on a heavily ribbed cast-iron column and base with precision-ground hardened box-way guideways on all three linear axes, the SV4020 offers the structural rigidity and vibration damping needed for heavy chip loads in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 44 x 20-inch worktable provides generous fixturing space, accommodating longer workpieces and multiple part setups without repositioning. Axis travels of 40 inches in X, 20 inches in Y, and 22 inches in Z define a capable large-format work envelope. The 40-taper spindle operates at up to 8,000 RPM with 15 HP continuous power, providing the torque for roughing steel and cast iron as well as sufficient speed for finishing passes in aluminum. An automatic tool changer supports extended unattended machining programs. The Fanuc 0i-M CNC control provides full G-code, macro, and canned cycle programming with Ethernet network connectivity for DNC and remote monitoring. Standard features include integrated coolant, chip conveyor provisions, and full-enclosure guarding. The SV4020 is a capable mid-to-large VMC for manufacturers requiring an extended X-axis travel beyond the SV3220 while maintaining the proven Sharp Industries box-way construction philosophy.
