Technical Description

The 2013 Tormach PCNC1100 is a 3-axis compact vertical machining center designed for educational, hobbyist, and light-duty production use. Produced by Tormach LLC of Waunakee, Wisconsin, the PCNC1100 was introduced in 2005 as Tormach's flagship personal CNC mill and remained in production through the late 2010s. The machine features a 34" x 9.5" work table and provides axis travels of 18.0" in X, 9.5" in Y, and 16.25" in Z. The spindle operates at up to 5,000 RPM with 1.5 HP continuous power and accepts R8 tooling, the same taper used on standard Bridgeport-style mills, making tooling widely available and affordable. The PathPilot CNC control provides a touchscreen-friendly operator interface with G-code and conversational programming, tool path preview, and intuitive setup workflows. The machine occupies a footprint of 69" x 56.5" with an overall height of 96" and weighs approximately 1,220 lbs including stand. As a light-duty hobbyist and educational VMC, the PCNC1100 is capable of machining aluminum, plastics, brass, and mild steel for prototype and short-run work, and supports a wide ecosystem of Tormach accessories.
