Technical Description

The 2005 Tormach PCNC770 is a 3-axis compact vertical machining center. Note: The PCNC770 model was introduced approximately 2012; a listing year of 2005 predates the model's introduction and may reflect a data entry error. Buyers should confirm the actual machine year from the nameplate. The PCNC770 features a work table measuring 26" x 8" and provides axis travels of 14.0" in X, 7.5" in Y, and 13.25" in Z. The spindle operates at up to 5,000 RPM with 1 HP continuous power and accepts R8 tooling. The PathPilot CNC control provides a touchscreen operator interface with G-code and conversational programming support. The machine occupies a footprint of 56" x 48.5" with an overall height of 88" and weighs approximately 610 lbs. As a compact light-duty VMC, the PCNC770 is suited to machining aluminum, plastics, brass, and mild steel for prototyping, short-run production, and educational environments. It is not intended for heavy industrial production use. An optional high-speed 10,000 RPM spindle upgrade was available from Tormach for this platform.
