Technical Description

The 2014 YCM NMV106A is a 3-axis vertical machining center manufactured by Yeong Chin Machinery Industries of Taiwan, representing the updated generation of the highly successful MV106A platform with enhanced spindle performance, improved axis dynamics, and a modernized Fanuc control. The NMV106A delivers X/Y/Z travels of 40.2 x 23.6 x 23.6 inches over a 44.1 x 23.6 inch working table with a 1,764 lb table load capacity. The BBT40 spindle reaches 12,000 RPM standard, an upgrade from the MV106A’s 10,000 RPM, with 18.5 kW (approximately 25 HP) of spindle power, providing improved high-speed performance for aluminum and titanium contouring while retaining the torque needed for steel and cast iron operations. An isolated direct-drive (IDD) spindle with ceramic bearings delivers low vibration, excellent surface finish, and extended tool and spindle bearing life. The 24-station automatic tool changer (expandable to 30 or 40 tools) supports complex multi-feature programs. The Fanuc control with rigid tapping, DNC Ethernet connectivity, and helical interpolation provides a current-generation programming interface. The NMV106A’s roller-type linear guideways on all axes enable rapid traverse rates significantly higher than the box-way MV106A, improving cycle times on programs with many short rapid moves. YCM’s updated NMV series maintains the proven structural rigidity and thermal stability of the original MV design while delivering modern VMC performance standards.
