Technical Description

The 2018 YCM NXV1680A is a 3-axis large-format vertical machining center produced by Yeong Chin Machinery Industries of Taiwan, extending the popular NXV platform to a wider work envelope for larger workpieces and tooling applications. The NXV1680A delivers X/Y/Z travels of 66.0 x 32.0 x 25.6 inches, providing substantial capacity for automotive dies, aerospace structural components, large mold bases, and multi-part fixture setups that exceed the capacity of standard 40-inch-X VMCs. The CAT-40 or optional BBT40 spindle operates at 12,000 RPM with 15 HP of continuous power, with the IDD spindle design employing ceramic bearings for low vibration and extended life under continuous production conditions. Roller-type linear guideways on all three axes deliver rapid traverse rates suited to productive large-envelope machining, and the machine’s widened column and base castings provide the rigidity needed to maintain accuracy across the extended axis strokes. A standard automatic tool changer enables complex multi-operation programs across the generous work area. The Fanuc or optional Siemens control provides rigid tapping, helical interpolation, DNC connectivity, and comprehensive programming support. The NXV1680A serves as YCM’s answer to the growing demand for large-format production VMCs that maintain the reliability and operator familiarity of the standard NXV series while offering increased work envelope for larger part families.
