A+Technical Description
The 2018 YCM TV146B is a 3-axis traveling-column vertical machining center produced by Yeong Chin Machinery Industries of Taiwan, designed for heavy-duty milling, drilling, and boring of large, heavy workpieces across die and mold, automotive, aerospace, and heavy equipment industries. The machine’s unique T-base structural design, where the column travels along the X-axis over a fixed 59.1 x 23.6 inch table, decouples workpiece mass from axis dynamics and provides full under-table support across the entire travel range, eliminating the sag and geometric errors associated with cantilevered table designs in conventional VMCs. X/Y/Z travels are 55.1 x 24.4 x 24.8 inches with a maximum table load of 3,307 lbs. The BT50 gear-driven spindle operates at 6,000 RPM with 25 HP, delivering high torque output for heavy material removal in steel, cast iron, and titanium with a maximum torque of 48 kgf-m. A 24-station automatic tool changer enables complex multi-operation programs on large components. Hardened box-way guideways on all axes provide exceptional rigidity, vibration damping, and long-term accuracy retention under heavy cutting loads, a key differentiator of the TV series versus linear-guideway VMCs in the heavy-cutting segment. The Fanuc or equivalent control provides rigid tapping, DNC connectivity, and helical interpolation. At approximately 27,117 lbs machine weight, the TV146B has the structural mass to maintain dimensional accuracy in demanding heavy-cut production environments.
