Technical Description

The 2013 YCM XV560 is a 3-axis compact vertical machining center manufactured by Yeong Chin Machinery Industries of Taiwan, engineered for precision production work in a space-efficient footprint. The XV560 features YCM's IDD (Inline Direct Drive) spindle, in which the Fanuc Vector Drive AC motor is directly coupled to the spindle to minimize vibration, backlash, and thermal growth. The CAT-40 spindle operates up to 10,000 RPM with a continuous power rating of 10 HP, and the symmetrically designed headstock promotes uniform thermal expansion for sustained accuracy. Axis travels are 22.0 inches in X, 16.1 inches in Y, and 17.7 inches in Z, all supported on high-precision linear guideways. A 20-station automatic tool changer provides fast tool changes at approximately 3.5 seconds tool-to-tool. The worktable measures 27.6 x 16.5 inches and accepts a maximum load of 660 lbs. Rigid tapping is supported via spindle encoder feedback to the Fanuc CNC control, which provides standard G-code programming and RS-232 connectivity. Positive-pressure airflow through the spindle head prevents coolant mist and chip contamination of the spindle bearings. A spindle air blast automatically cleans the taper at every tool change. The XV560 is well-suited for die and mold work, medical components, and general precision machining where a compact machine with tight tolerances is required. Machine weight is approximately 9,900 lbs.
