Technical Description

The 2007 ZPS MCV1210 is a 3-axis gantry-type portal vertical machining center manufactured by Tajmac-ZPS of Zlin, Czech Republic. The MCV1210 is the standard 3-axis variant of ZPS's MCV 1210 platform, sharing the same upper-gantry portal construction as the 5-axis version but configured for conventional 3-axis CNC milling, drilling, boring, and tapping operations. The rigid portal frame, formed by two sidewalls fastened to the base, provides a stable foundation for sustained high-precision machining of molds, dies, fixtures, and general structural components. All axis movements are carried on preloaded linear roller guideways with ballscrew drives and linear position feedback scales for closed-loop accuracy. The built-in motor spindle unit operates at up to 15,000 RPM at 45 HP, enabling productive high-speed machining of steel, aluminum, and hardened tool steels. Axis travels are 39.3 inches in X, 31.5 inches in Y, and 23.6 inches in Z. The 47.24 x 39.3 inch worktable supports workpiece loads up to 1,540 lbs. A 30-station ATC with 3.5-second tool change time enables unattended production. Due to the high dynamics, rigidity, and damping capacity of its construction, the MCV1210 enables full utilization of HSC technology for shorter cycle times and improved surface finish. The machine is equipped with a Heidenhain iTNC 530 CNC control supporting full G-code programming, look-ahead contouring, and rigid tapping cycles.
