A+Technical Description
The 2007 Bridgeport XR760 is a 3-axis vertical machining center produced by Hardinge Inc. under the Bridgeport brand, representing the compact 760mm X-travel variant of the XR series. The machine features a 35.4-inch by 23.6-inch worktable with a maximum table load of 2,000 lbs and a 30-station bidirectional side-mount automatic tool changer. The spindle is a WEISS-technology unit delivering 25 HP (18.5 kW) with a maximum speed of 12,000 RPM through a CT 40 or BT 40 Big-Plus dual-contact interface; 9,000 and 15,000 RPM options were also available. X-axis travel is 30 inches (760mm), Y-axis travel is 24 inches (610mm), and Z-axis travel is 24 inches (610mm). The machine is equipped with a Fanuc 18i-MB CNC control (standard North American configuration) or Heidenhain iTNC 530 (optional), providing high-speed contouring, rigid tapping, and Look Ahead block processing. Rapid traverse rates reach 1,692 IPM on X/Y and 1,417 IPM on Z. The XR760 is built on a grey cast-iron base with 45mm linear roller guideways on all axes, assembled at Hardinge's Elmira, NY facility. Standard equipment includes flood coolant, through-spindle coolant, automatic lubrication, and chip conveyor. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 155 inches long by 92 inches wide by 92 inches tall, with a machine weight of approximately 16,000 lbs. The 2007 XR760 is the smaller-footprint companion to the XR1000, sharing the same spindle, control, and Y/Z travel while reducing X travel to 30 inches.
