Technical Description

The 2012 Brother TCS2DN is a 3-axis CNC drilling and tapping center and the updated successor to the TC-S2C series, offering an optional 16,000 RPM spindle configuration in addition to the standard 10,000 RPM version. The BT30 direct-drive spindle delivers 6.7 kW of continuous power (approximately 9 HP) at 10,000 RPM standard, with the 16,000 RPM option providing 4.9 kW continuous for ultra-high-speed tapping applications. The work table measures 600 mm x 400 mm (23.6 x 15.7 inches), with axis travels of 500 mm (19.7 inches) in X, 400 mm (15.7 inches) in Y, and 300 mm (11.8 inches) in Z. A 14- or 21-tool ATC is available depending on configuration. The Brother CNC-B00 control delivers fast look-ahead processing and is optionally configurable for fourth- and fifth-axis operation. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 61.4 x 86.9 x 102 inches and the machine weighs approximately 5,291 lbs (2,400 kg). Key improvements over the TCS2C include the high-speed spindle option and further energy efficiency enhancements. Upgrade options include the 16,000 RPM spindle package, the extended TCS2DN0 long-table variant with 700 mm X travel, and BIG-PLUS dual-contact BT30 toolholding.
