A+Technical Description
The 2019 Bumotec S191 is a multi-axis CNC turn-mill center produced by Bumotec of the Starrag Group, engineered for complete machining of complex precision components in a single clamping from bar stock. The S191 supports up to 7 simultaneous CNC axes — X, Y, Z, B-axis swivel (+115°/-25°), C main spindle, C2 sub-spindle, and tailstock — enabling highly complex part geometries without repositioning. The turning/C-axis main spindle delivers 15 kW of power while the high-speed milling spindle provides 8.0 kW in S1 continuous mode (approximately 10.7 HP), reaching up to 30,000 RPM as standard with a 40,000 RPM option available. Tool holding is via HSK-40A interface. Axis travels are 410 mm (16.1 inches) in X, 200 mm (7.9 inches) in Y, and 400 mm (15.7 inches) in Z. Bar stock capacity ranges from 32 mm to 65 mm diameter depending on configuration. A 30-tool ATC (60-tool optional) supports extended production. Control is provided by the Fanuc 31i CNC platform. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 86.6 x 74.8 x 78.3 inches — excluding bar feeder — and the machine weighs approximately 9,260 lbs (4,200 kg). Linear motor drives on all axes deliver exceptional positioning accuracy suitable for medical, watchmaking, and aerospace precision components. Rapid feed rates reach 40 m/min across all axes.
