A+Technical Description
The 2020 DMG DMU 70 is a 5-axis universal machining center from the DMU eVo generation, featuring a rigid gantry structure and a swivel/tilt rotary table for full simultaneous 5-axis machining capability. The 680 mm direct-drive rotary table supports workpieces up to 650 mm in diameter and 500 mm in height with a maximum load of 600 kg. The speedMASTER spindle delivers 24 kW of continuous power at up to 18,000 RPM via an HSK-A63 interface, with optional powerMASTER or torqueMASTER spindle configurations available for heavy-duty cutting. Axis travels of 735 mm (X), 650 mm (Y), and 560 mm (Z) provide an expanded working envelope compared to earlier DMU 70 generations. The monoBLOCK construction and direct linear drives on all linear axes deliver high dynamic performance and positioning accuracy, making the machine well-suited for aerospace, automotive, die/mold, and medical component machining. The CELOS control platform based on Siemens 840D sl or Heidenhain iTNC 530 enables seamless integration into digital manufacturing environments. A standard 30-pocket tool changer supports extended unattended operation, with larger magazine options available. Rapid traverse rates of 60 m/min on all axes minimize non-cutting time in high-mix production scenarios.
