A+Technical Description
The 2021 FANUC ROBODRILL a-D21LiB5 ADV is a 5-axis compact drilling, tapping, and milling center from the FANUC RoboDrill alpha-D21LiB5 ADV Plus series, the advanced-specification variant of the current-generation L-size 5-axis platform. The ADV designation introduces key enhancements over the standard LiB5: extended Z-axis travel to 400 mm versus 330 mm on the standard model, increased table load capacity of 400 kg versus 300 kg, and a faster 0.7-second tool-to-tool change time enabled by optimized ATC kinematics. The 850 x 410 mm worktable provides 700 mm X, 400 mm Y, and 400 mm Z travels, with the increased Z clearance accommodating taller workpieces and deeper mold cavity machining. The BBT30 dual-contact spindle operates at 10,000 RPM standard or 24,000 RPM with the high-speed option, delivering approximately 7.4 HP continuous and up to 34.8 HP at one minute for high-removal aluminum roughing. The FANUC Series 31i-B5 Plus CNC enables full 5-axis simultaneous interpolation, AI contour control II, FANUC macro B, and seamless FANUC robot integration for automated cell operation. Machine weight is approximately 5,071 lbs base or 5,511 lbs with the optional DDR-TiB rotary/tilt table. Overall dimensions are approximately 85 inches long by 82 inches wide by 90 inches tall. The ADV Plus is preferred for precision 5-axis production of aerospace brackets, medical implant components, and complex structural parts requiring both rigidity and extended reach.
