A+Technical Description
The 2021 FANUC ROBODRILL AD21MIA5 is a 5-axis compact drilling, tapping, and milling center from the FANUC RoboDrill alpha-D21MiA5 DiA-generation series. Combining 5-axis simultaneous interpolation with FANUC's medium-bed M-size platform, this machine delivers versatile 5-axis capability for complex small component machining in automotive, aerospace, and medical industries. The 650 x 400 mm worktable accommodates workpieces up to 300 kg within 500 mm X, 400 mm Y, and 330 mm Z travels. The BBT30 dual-contact spindle operates at up to 10,000 RPM standard, with a 24,000 RPM high-speed spindle option, rated at approximately 5 HP continuous and up to 15 HP at one minute. A 21-tool arm-type ATC achieves 0.9-second tool-to-tool change time, with rapid traverse rates reaching 54 m/min. The FANUC Series 31i-B5 CNC enables full 5-axis simultaneous interpolation, FANUC macro B, AI contour control, and comprehensive robot cell integration via FANUC RoboDrill Link. Chip-to-chip time is approximately 1.5 seconds. Machine weight is approximately 4,409 lbs and overall dimensions are approximately 64 inches long by 80 inches wide by 88 inches tall. The DiA generation introduced enhanced servo drives and improved spindle motor technology relative to the prior T21-series, delivering better surface finish and faster axis acceleration. Optional direct-drive rotary/tilt tables, pallet changers, and FANUC robots can be integrated for full lights-out manufacturing.
