Technical Description

The 2013 Leadwell MCV2000I is a 3-axis large-format vertical machining center equipped with the updated Fanuc i-series CNC for improved productivity and accuracy over the base MCV2000. Heavy fixed-column, moving-table box-way construction provides outstanding rigidity for machining very large workpieces including large mold bases, aerospace panels, and structural assemblies. The worktable measures 82.7 by 40 inches (2,100 x 1,016 mm) and supports up to 4,000 lbs, with axis travels of 80.3 inches in X, 40 inches in Y, and 28.3 inches in Z. The CAT-50 spindle delivers 8,000 RPM with 35 HP continuous output and feed rates of 787 IPM. The Fanuc 0i-MD CNC provides look-ahead interpolation, rigid tapping, high-speed machining cycles, and DNC networking. A 30-tool automatic tool changer supports extended multi-step programs. The machine weighs approximately 33,000 lbs with overall dimensions of approximately 216 by 163 by 150 inches. The MCV2000I is well suited for large mold and die shops, aerospace manufacturers, and heavy industrial component producers requiring a proven large-envelope VMC with current-generation CNC capability and heavy-duty spindle performance.
