A+Technical Description
The 2006 Leadwell MV-50i is a 3-axis vertical machining center designed for high-production machining of medium to large workpieces requiring an extended 50-inch X-axis travel in a rigid, thermally stable platform. The worktable measures 24 by 56 inches (610 x 1,422 mm) and accommodates workpieces up to 1,874 lbs, with axis travels of 50 inches in X, 25 inches in Y, and 24 inches in Z. The CAT-40 spindle reaches 12,000 RPM with 20 HP continuous output and 70.5 ft-lbs of torque, providing both speed for aluminum finishing and torque for steel production work. The Fanuc 18i-MB CNC control provides look-ahead interpolation, rigid tapping, high-speed machining cycles, and DNC networking capability. Spindle nose to table distance ranges from 6 to 30 inches. A 24-tool side-mount automatic tool changer enables continuous multi-step production programs. The MV-50i is particularly well suited for aerospace structural components, long fixture plates, multi-part setups, and production machining of components requiring extended X-axis reach with high spindle speed capability.
