A+Technical Description
The 2004 Leadwell V50 is a 3-axis vertical machining center designed for production machining of large workpieces requiring a 50-inch X-axis travel in a rigid, high-power platform. The fixed-column, moving-table cast iron structure provides excellent vibration damping and stability across the full large-format envelope. The worktable measures 56 by 24 inches (1,420 x 610 mm) and supports workpieces up to 2,200 lbs, with axis travels of 50 inches in X, 25 inches in Y, and 24 inches in Z. The CAT-40 spindle reaches 8,000 RPM with 29.5 HP (22 kW) continuous output. Spindle nose to table distance ranges from 3.9 to 27.9 inches. A 24-tool ATC with approximately 1.8-second tool-to-tool time enables efficient multi-step programs. The Fanuc CNC provides G-code programming, look-ahead interpolation, rigid tapping, and canned cycles. Machine weight is approximately 15,432 lbs. The V50 is well suited for aerospace structural panels, large fixture plates, long mold bases, and industrial components requiring extended X-axis machining reach in a dependable production VMC.
