Technical Description

The 2010 Mazak AJV-35/160 is a 3-axis large-format vertical machining center from Yamazaki Mazak's AJV series, representing the extended X-travel variant in the AJV-35 long-bed platform family. The '/160' designation indicates the approximately 160-inch (4,000 mm) X-axis travel class, designed for single-setup machining of exceptionally long structural and aerospace workpieces. The stationary worktable accommodates extended workpieces across this large envelope with Y travel of approximately 800 mm (31.5") and Z travel of approximately 508 mm (20"). The No. 50 (CAT-50) spindle taper operates up to approximately 3,150 to 5,000 RPM with a motor rated at approximately 35 HP, providing high torque for heavy milling of steel, cast iron, and large aluminum structural components. A multi-tool ATC supports complex multi-operation programs across the full table length. The CNC is the Mazatrol Matrix, Mazak's conversational and EIA/ISO programming platform with tool path simulation and rigid tapping. The AJV-35/160 targets aerospace, defense, energy, and heavy equipment manufacturing applications requiring extended single-setup machining of very long components.
