A+Technical Description
The 2014 Mazak AJV-35/80 is a 3-axis double-column vertical machining center from Yamazaki Mazak's AJV series, the larger sibling of the AJV-35/60 with an extended X-axis travel for long-workpiece machining. The fixed double-column bridge structure provides high rigidity for deep cuts on large steel, cast iron, and aluminum parts. The worktable measures approximately 2,184 x 787 mm (86" x 31") and supports a maximum load of approximately 1,995 kg (4,400 lbs). Axis travels are 2,017 mm (79.4") in X, 802 mm (31.6") in Y, and 511 mm (20.1") in Z, with the distance between columns at 889 mm (35"). The No. 50 (CAT-50) spindle taper operates up to 3,150 RPM with a motor rated at approximately 30 HP, delivering high torque for aggressive material removal. Rapid traverse is 945 IPM in X/Y and 708 IPM in Z. A 40-tool ATC supports complex multi-operation programs. The CNC is the Mazatrol Matrix, Mazak's conversational and EIA/ISO platform with tool path simulation and rigid tapping. Machine weight is approximately 12,700 to 14,050 kg (28,000 to 31,000 lbs) and the overall footprint is approximately 327" x 138" with a height of 134". The AJV-35/80 is a proven platform for aerospace, die/mold, energy, and heavy equipment manufacturing applications requiring an extended large-part work envelope.
