Technical Description

The 1997 Mazak FJV-25 is a 3-axis double-column vertical machining center from Yamazaki Mazak's FJV (Full-size Jigmatic Vertical) series, a C-frame bridge VMC platform designed for high-accuracy production machining of medium-sized components. The worktable measures 1,200 x 550 mm (47.24" x 21.65") and supports a maximum load of 800 kg (1,760 lbs). Axis travels are 1,020 mm (40.15") in X, 510 mm (20.07") in Y, and 460 mm (18.11") in Z. The CAT-40 spindle operates up to 12,000 RPM with a motor rated at approximately 30 HP, providing both high-speed finishing and adequate torque for steel and cast iron milling. The bridge column architecture delivers enhanced rigidity compared to a standard C-frame VMC, minimizing deflection under heavy cutting loads. The CNC is the Mazatrol 640M, Mazak's conversational and EIA/ISO programming platform with integrated tool path simulation, geometry calculation, and rigid tapping. Machine weight is approximately 5,490 kg (12,100 lbs) and the overall footprint is approximately 102" x 95" with a height of 108". The FJV-25 is a versatile and capable platform for job shop and production machining of precision components in aerospace subcontracting, mold making, and general engineering applications.
