Technical Description

The 2021 Mazak FJV-35/60 is a 3-axis double-column vertical machining center from Yamazaki Mazak's FJV series, engineered for heavy-duty machining of large workpieces with high structural rigidity. The fixed bridge column with wide-spaced guideways resists deflection under deep cutting loads on steel, cast iron, and large aluminum components. The worktable measures 1,740 x 750 mm (68.5" x 29.5") with the column passage between uprights at 860 mm (33.9"). Axis travels are 1,500 mm (59.1") in X, 800 mm (31.5") in Y, and 660 mm (26.0") in Z. The No. 50 (CAT-50) spindle taper operates up to 6,000 RPM with a motor rated at approximately 40 HP, delivering high torque for robust material removal. The CNC is the Mazatrol Smooth, Mazak's conversational and EIA/ISO programming platform with tool path simulation, rigid tapping, and macro programming support. Machine weight is approximately 13,000 kg (28,600 lbs) and the overall footprint is approximately 138" x 116" with a height of 203". The FJV-35/60 is a well-established platform in aerospace, die/mold, energy, and heavy equipment manufacturing for large-part machining applications requiring bridge-column rigidity and an extended work envelope.
