Technical Description

The 1999 Mazak MTV815-120 is a 3-axis large-format fixed-bridge vertical machining center from Yamazaki Mazak's MTV series, providing a substantially larger work envelope than the MTV655 family with 120-inch X-axis travel and a wider bridge column. The worktable measures approximately 3,240 x 810 mm (127.6" x 31.9") and supports a maximum workpiece load of 3,000 kg (6,614 lbs). Axis travels are 3,048 mm (120") in X, 810 mm (31.9") in Y, and 750 mm (29.5") in Z. The No. 50 (CAT-50) spindle taper operates up to 6,000 RPM with a continuous rating of approximately 30 HP (35 HP at 30 minutes), delivering high torque for aggressive material removal on steel, cast iron, and large aluminum structural components. A 60-tool ATC with tools up to 4.92" diameter and 15.75" length (44 lb max weight) supports complex unattended multi-operation programs. The CNC is the Mazatrol 640M, Mazak's conversational and EIA/ISO programming platform with tool path simulation, rigid tapping, and macro programming support. The MTV815-120 is designed for aerospace, defense, energy sector, and heavy equipment manufacturing requiring a very long work envelope with high spindle power and bridge-column rigidity for single-setup machining of large structural parts and tooling.
