Technical Description

The 2016 Mazak VCN510C II 5X is a 5-axis vertical machining center that adds simultaneous 5-axis capability to the proven VCN510C II platform through an integrated trunnion-style tilting rotary table. The linear travel envelope — X-axis 41.3 inches, Y-axis 20.0 inches, Z-axis 20.0 inches — matches the standard VCN510C II, while the trunnion table provides B-axis tilt and C-axis rotation for true simultaneous 5-axis contouring. The 1,300 x 550 mm base table accommodates the 5-axis table assembly. The No. 40 taper spindle reaches 12,000 RPM with 10 HP continuous power, enabling high-speed machining of complex contoured surfaces in aluminum, titanium, steel, and hardened tool steels. Mazak's simultaneous 5-axis control with 5-axis spline interpolation and tool length compensation in 5-axis mode produces smooth, accurate contoured surfaces directly from the CNC. A 30-tool automatic tool changer supports complete machining of complex components in a single setup, eliminating multiple clamping operations and associated re-referencing errors. The Mazatrol Matrix Nexus CNC provides conversational 5-axis programming, NURBS interpolation, and 3D machine interference checking. The VCN510C II 5X is suited to aerospace structural components, medical implants, complex mold inserts, impellers, turbine components, and any application requiring true simultaneous 5-axis motion. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 114 x 112 x 113 inches and the machine weighs approximately 14,824 lbs.
