A+Technical Description
The 2012 Mazak VCN530C II HS is a 3-axis ultra-high-speed vertical machining center based on the VCN530C II platform, featuring a specialized high-speed spindle system that reaches 42,000 RPM maximum speed. The HSK-40E taper spindle is engineered for extreme rotational speeds and rapid tool acceleration, enabling high-speed machining of aluminum, composites, graphite, and other materials at surface speeds far beyond the capability of conventional VMC spindles. The 1,554 x 550 mm work table — longer than the standard VCN530C — provides X-axis travel of 41.3 inches, Y-axis travel of 20.87 inches, and Z-axis travel of 20.1 inches. Spindle power is 30 HP, supporting aggressive material removal despite the high rotational speed. Rapid traverse of 1,654 IPM across all linear axes, combined with the 42,000 RPM spindle capability, enables highly productive cycle times in high-speed machining applications. The 30-tool ATC supports complete setup in a single clamping. The heavier machine structure of 24,250 lbs provides the mass and damping needed to maintain accuracy and surface finish at extreme spindle speeds. The Mazatrol Matrix Nexus 2 CNC provides conversational and EIA/ISO programming with NURBS interpolation and advanced look-ahead control optimized for high-speed toolpaths. The VCN530C II HS is suited to aerospace structural machining, large aluminum molds, graphite electrode production, and any application requiring very high spindle speeds. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 114 x 127 x 111 inches.
