Technical Description

The 2017 Mazak VCN700D II is a 3-axis large-envelope vertical machining center in the second-generation 700D platform. The 1,740 x 700 mm work table supports X-axis travel of 60.2 inches, Y-axis travel of 27.6 inches, and Z-axis travel of 25.6 inches, providing a large machining envelope for substantial workpieces. The standard No. 50 taper spindle delivers 8,000 RPM maximum speed and 30 HP continuous power with high torque, enabling heavy-duty material removal in steel, cast iron, and high-strength alloys. The 30-tool automatic tool changer supports complete multi-operation sequences on large prismatic parts. Box-way construction provides the mass, rigidity, and damping required for heavy cutting without deflection or surface finish degradation. The Mazatrol Matrix CNC provides conversational and EIA/ISO programming with advanced tool management, thermal compensation, and DNC networking. Integrated chip management and coolant systems support sustained production operation. The VCN700D II is applied to large die and mold work, aerospace structural components, industrial gearbox housings, hydraulic manifolds, and other large-format precision machining applications where the combination of large table, No. 50 taper torque, and rigid box-way construction enables machining beyond the capability of smaller VMC platforms. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 161.4 x 137.2 x 135.1 inches and the machine weighs approximately 27,400 lbs.
