A+Technical Description
The 1993 Mazak VTC16C is a 3-axis traveling-column vertical machining center, the long-travel variant of Mazak's VTC-16 series with 65.35 in. of X-axis travel, designed for machining very long workpieces or staging many parts across the table in a single setup. The traveling-column design keeps the worktable stationary while the column traverses the full X stroke, enabling flexible multi-part staging and straightforward loading of elongated components. The machine is equipped with a 78.74 x 16.14 in. worktable. Axis travels are 65.35 in. (X), 16.14 in. (Y), and 20.08 in. (Z). The CAT 40 spindle reaches a maximum speed of 7,000 to 8,000 RPM with 15 HP of continuous output. A 24-tool ATC (with dual 24-pocket optional configuration for very long programs) supports complex multi-operation runs. The 1993 VTC16C is controlled by Mazatrol M32B CNC, providing conversational Mazatrol and EIA/ISO programming with full 3-axis contouring and tool life management. The long table and traveling-column design make the VTC16C particularly effective for aerospace stringers and brackets, long die sets, and other elongated precision components. Machine weight is approximately 13,200 lbs.
