Technical Description

The 2015 Mazak VTC200B is a 3-axis traveling-column vertical machining center, the mid-travel variant of Mazak's VTC200 series, designed for high-productivity machining of medium to large workpieces. The traveling-column design keeps the worktable stationary while the column traverses along the X-axis, enabling flexible multi-part staging and easy workpiece loading. The machine is equipped with a 57.48 x 20.08 in. worktable with a 1,760 lb load capacity. Axis travels are 44.09 in. (X), 20.08 in. (Y), and 20.08 in. (Z). The CAT 40 spindle achieves a maximum speed of 10,000 RPM with 20 HP of continuous output, enabling productive cutting across aluminum, steel, and cast iron. A 24-tool ATC (some configurations 30-tool) and rapid traverse rates of 1,181 IPM on all axes support short cycle times. The 2015 VTC200B is controlled by Mazatrol Matrix CNC, providing conversational Mazatrol and EIA/ISO programming with full 3-axis contouring, tool life management, and DNC connectivity. The rigid cast-iron construction and traveling-column design allow multiple workpieces to be staged and machined in sequence, maximizing spindle utilization. With overall dimensions of approximately 170 in. long by 113 in. wide by 108 in. tall and a machine weight of approximately 13,200 lbs, the VTC200B is a capable production machine for aerospace, mold and die, and general precision machining applications.
