Technical Description

The 2015 Mori Seiki FM1 is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Mori Seiki's Frontier M series, designed as a compact and economical production platform for small-to-medium prismatic components. Note that Mori Seiki rebranded to DMG Mori in 2013; machines listed under the Mori Seiki name at this date are pre-rebranding units being resold on the used equipment market. The FM1 (Frontier M1) features a 35.4 x 17.7 inch work table and provides X-, Y-, and Z-axis travels of 22.0, 16.1, and 18.1 inches, accommodating a range of small-to-medium housings, brackets, and precision components. The BT-40 taper spindle operates at speeds up to 8,000 RPM with a 7.5 HP motor, suitable for milling, drilling, and tapping in steel, aluminum, and cast iron. The machine is equipped with the Fanuc 21M CNC control, providing G-code programming, canned cycles, and rigid tapping capability. Machine weight is approximately 9,240 pounds.
