Technical Description

The 2020 Mori Seiki NV5000 A1/40 is a 3-axis vertical machining center in the NV5000 platform family, designated 'A1/40' to identify the A1 configuration with CAT 40 spindle interface. As one of the later production variants in this series, the A1/40 benefits from the full suite of NV series design refinements including improved thermal compensation, enhanced structural casting geometry, and high-speed axis drives. The machine provides 43.3 inches of X travel, 22.0 inches of Y, and 20.1 inches of Z, with a 30 HP spindle motor driving the CAT 40 taper to a maximum of 12,000 RPM across a broad range of materials. The MAPPS or Fanuc CNC control delivers high-speed look-ahead contouring, macro B programming, and broad CAM post-processor compatibility. T-slot worktable provides flexible fixturing options, and the automatic tool changer supports complex, multi-tool programs for efficient part production. Machine weight is approximately 18,700 pounds. Note: Mori Seiki merged with DMG to form DMG Mori around 2013; machines labeled MORI SEIKI are pre-rebranding era. This machine is suitable for precision aerospace, automotive, and high-mix manufacturing applications requiring a dependable, high-throughput 3-axis VMC.
