A+Technical Description
The 2023 OKK VCX350 is a 5-axis vertical machining center with tilting rotary trunnion table manufactured by OKK (Osaka Kiko Co., Ltd. / Nidec OKK), a Japanese precision machine tool builder. The VCX350 is engineered for simultaneous five-axis contouring of complex workpieces including impellers, turbine blades, medical implants, and precision aerospace components. The trunnion table accommodates round pallets of 350 mm (13.78 inch) diameter with a maximum workpiece weight of 441 pounds, enabling full five-axis access across tilt and rotary axes. Linear axis travels of 23.6 inches in X, 16.9 inches in Y, and 18.1 inches in Z, combined with A-axis tilt of negative 120 to positive 30 degrees and continuous C-axis rotation, provide the kinematic freedom for complex surface interpolation. The standard 12,000 RPM spindle is available with an optional 20,000 RPM configuration for high-speed five-axis aluminum and titanium applications. Rapid traverse of 50 m/min in X and Y, and 36 m/min in Z, minimizes non-cutting time in complex five-axis programs. The Fanuc 31i-B5 CNC control with tool center point control (TCPC) and workpiece setting error compensation provides the five-axis interpolation accuracy required for precision contouring. Machine weight is approximately 18,740 pounds. The VCX350 represents OKK's five-axis capability in a compact, high-precision platform.
