A+Technical Description
The 2022 Okuma MC30VA is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Okuma's MC-VA series, a compact platform designed for precision drilling, tapping, contouring, and boring of small to mid-size workpieces. Despite its smaller footprint relative to the MB and MA series, the MC30VA is built on Okuma's characteristic rigid cast-iron structure with Thermo-Friendly Concept (TFC) thermal management to maintain dimensional accuracy throughout multi-shift production. The worktable measures approximately 37.80" x 19.69" (960 x 500 mm) with axis travels of approximately 20.08" in X, 12.99" in Y, and 15.75" in Z. The CAT40/BT40 taper spindle achieves a maximum speed of approximately 5,400 RPM, providing high torque at lower speeds for steel, cast iron, and stainless steel applications. The machine includes a standard 20-tool automatic tool changer (ATC). The Okuma OSP-P300M control provides conversational and G-code programming, canned cycles for drilling and tapping, rigid tapping, servo drives with absolute encoders, and Ethernet connectivity for DNC and remote diagnostics. The OSP-P300M also includes Okuma's Collision Avoidance System (CAS) for crash prevention during program verification and setup. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 113.4" x 103.5" (L x W) with a height of 106.5" and a weight of approximately 14,330 lbs (6,500 kg), making the MC30VA a compact but capable VMC for job shop and production environments.
