Technical Description

The 2006 Okuma MILLAC 44V is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Okuma's MILLAC series, a compact and precise platform designed for high-speed cutting of aluminum, light alloys, and steel in the aerospace, automotive, and precision manufacturing sectors. The MILLAC 44V features a rigid cast-iron column-and-base construction with Thermo-Friendly Concept (TFC) thermal management, and linear guideway construction optimized for high-speed positioning and surface finish. The worktable measures approximately 24.80" x 15.75" (630 x 400 mm) with axis travels of approximately 22.05" in X, 16.14" in Y, and 16.14" in Z. Rapid traverse is 1,417 IPM (36 m/min) on all linear axes. The CAT40/BT40 taper spindle delivers approximately 14.75 HP (11 kW) continuous with a maximum speed of 12,000 RPM, with optional 20,000 RPM spindle configurations available on the MILLAC 44V II variant for high-speed aluminum applications. The Okuma OSP-5020M control provides G-code and conversational programming, canned cycles, rigid tapping, servo drives with absolute encoders, and Ethernet connectivity for DNC. A standard arm-type ATC enables multi-operation setups. Machine weight is approximately 11,023 lbs (5,000 kg), making the MILLAC 44V a compact, high-speed VMC well suited for precision parts production in high-throughput environments.
