A+Technical Description
The 2008 Okuma MILLAC 800VH is a 5-axis vertical/horizontal machining center from Okuma's MILLAC series, featuring an automatic pallet changer (APC) and multi-axis capability designed for complex prismatic parts requiring machining on multiple faces in a single setup. The MILLAC 800VH combines a vertical spindle orientation with a swiveling A-axis and rotary B-axis to enable five-sided or full 5-axis simultaneous machining of aerospace, automotive, and precision industrial components. The machine accommodates 800 mm x 800 mm (31.50" x 31.50") pallets with a maximum load of approximately 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs). Axis travels are approximately 40.16" in X, 40.16" in Y, and 40.16" in Z, with A and B rotary axes providing the additional degrees of freedom required for complex 5-axis contouring. The CAT50 taper spindle delivers approximately 24.8 HP (18.5 kW) continuous with a maximum speed of 10,000 RPM, enabling both heavy roughing and finishing in a wide range of materials. A standard ATC provides multi-tool capability within each pallet cycle. The Okuma OSP-P200M control manages all five axes simultaneously with servo drives and absolute encoders, providing 5-axis simultaneous contouring, G-code and conversational programming, Collision Avoidance System (CAS) for all axes, and Ethernet connectivity. The MILLAC 800VH is suited for high-value precision component manufacturing where multi-sided access and unattended operation are required.
