The 2010 SAMSUNG MCV50 is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Korean manufacturer Samsung Machine Tools (SMEC), engineered for production milling, drilling, and tapping of medium-format components. The 47.3" x 20.1" CAT40 Big-Plus worktable provides a substantial work surface for production fixturing, with axis travels of 35.43" in X, 19.69" in Y, and 20.08" in Z spanning a practical 3-axis cutting envelope. The CAT40 Big-Plus dual-contact taper spindle delivers 15 HP continuously (20 HP peak) at up to 10,000 RPM, providing a capable balance of torque for steel roughing and speed for aluminum finishing. The machine is controlled by a Fanuc 0i-MD CNC. A 30-tool ATC enables multi-operation production without operator intervention. Through-spindle coolant is available for deep-hole drilling. At approximately 12,100 lbs, the MCV50 is a rigidly built platform suited to job shops and production facilities processing steel, aluminum, and cast iron components.
